We hope that the variety of physical education classes, trainings on various sports and games, tournaments and matches attract the interest of students in sports and movement activities. Year by year our students achieve beautiful results in different sports fields.
However, beside good results, our main goal was to engage the learners in a broad range of extra-curricular recreational sports activities.
The number of the physical education hours has been reduced over the years, becoming a one hour meeting weekly, and recently PE has been excluded from the subjects from the BAC exam, too, so the importance of the physical education and sport lies in the age group's susceptibility. The vast majority of students only practice sport at school or at extracurricular sports sessions. Here should be well grounded the physical condition of the children, to endear the sport and raise awareness of the sport, and acknowledge the importance of a healthy lifestyle.
The sport clubs give good opportunities to deal more with the school's basketball and soccer team and athletics. In addition here we can teach aerobic dance, too.
During the 2004 - 2005 academic year the composition of the PE cathedra was: Deak Fagarasi Elek, responsible of the cathedra, Ferencz Sandor and Kerekes Ferenc physical education teachers. After the death of the teacher Deak Fogarasi Elek in February 2005 the composition of the cathedra has not been changed.
Our students have participated every year and have a successful debut at the National Sports Olympics organized by the Ministry of Education, and also participated at several national and international Hungarian Schools Basketball Finals organized by the RMDSZ party.
The results are also noteworthy because our students are constantly racing with qualified sports players from sports schools. Although, in the last years few of our students reached the national level and neither in team games we didn't reach outstanding results, we think that our students' performances are still noteworthy.
